Tuesday, Day 2

Things were great today! We learned how to dribble and pass and Coach Clara and Nelly joined us! We were also focusing on throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks. We played a really fun game called ankle biters, too! Here are some pictures from today.

4 Coaches!

As you might remember, yesterday we only had 3 coaches. Adrianne, Jenna, and Brenna. But today, our 4th coach, Clara, is going to be here too!

Clara could not make the first day of the soccer camp because she was going to Boston to drop off her sister at the airport. Her sister is going to Germany for an exchange program and Clara won't get to see her for a year! The date of the soccer camp was misunderstood to Clara's parents, but everything turned out fine. Now Nelly and Clara can be apart of our fun soccer camp!

Getting Ready for August 16th, 2010!

Coaches are getting ready fro the big day! August 16th, 2010 is the 1st day of the Backyard Soccer Camp 2010... and all of the coaches are nervous. Recently they have been updating the schedule, buying spray-paint, helping prepare the fields, making certificates... and MUCH more.

We couldn't have done it without Mr. Kevin Camisa, though. He works for a t-shirt dyeing buisness and got us 18 dyed, new, perfect t-shirts for only $1.00 each! Thanks SO much Kevin!

Also, thanks to everyone for signing up for the Backyard Soccer Camp 2010, we hope you all have a ton of fun!

Certificates, Snacks, and Picture Day.. Oh My! 2009

At the end of the week kids receive a certificate for completing the camp, pictures, and a t-shirt . The pictures include an individual shot and a team one. Kids make their own t-shirt complete with a name and number. They also get a snack in between.

Scrimmage Time! 2009

After all of the drills and skills, kids get to play in a scrimmage with randomly picked teams. They are encouraged to use what they learned earlier in the week and the day during this scrimmage. They were also informed about good sportsmanship. They enjoyed this time because they felt like they were in a real soccer game.

Ping Pong Relay Race '09!

Last year, in The Backyard Soccer Camp 2009, players participated in lots of fun games to improve their fitness. For example, each team got an empty bucket with a ping-pong ball in it. Both teams get into separate lines giving the first person in line a cup. Both teams rush to a big tub of water and fill up their cup. They then have to rush back and put the water into their team bucket with the ping-pong ball. Then they hand the cup to the next person in line. The object of the game is to be the first team to gather so much water that the ball actually comes out of the bucket. Kids had fun with this because sometimes the water would spill and cool them down on a hot August day.
